DATO is currently an actively touring performer. He is working in his studio «Art Land» on a new album.

DATO writes all of his own music and performs songs in many different genres such as soul, disco, euro dance, reggae, Latin.

He sings in 7 different languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Georgian, Turkish, Armenian, and Ukrainian. Also plays almost every musical instrument, except the brass and the winds.

In 2011 he was nominated for the «Best European Artist» at the Big Apple Awards in New York for the second time and won the award, also in 2009 in New York at the same award ceremony he won the award of the «Best Music Video».


As a member of 'Sahe', DATO collaborated with an American rapper Coolio and 'Manhattan Transfer' for one of the performances in Tbilisi, when the rapper himself showed the interest in getting on the stage with DATO, he also recorded a song with 'Poetry'n'motion' (USA).

DATO went solo in 2000, his solo performances in Tbilisi Palace of Sports set records in ticket sales.
Released his first album intriguingly titled ‘I want you to want this’ in 2002, followed by the second one – ‘I don’t want to hurt you’ in 2003.

He released his first and so far the only Russian album at the end of 2005 on ‘Gramophone music’. It included 16 songs and two videos – «Forgive Me’ and ‘Sand Dream’.

DATO has been voted the 'Singer of the Year' in Georgia several times.

The video 'Sand Dream' set to DATO 's song 'Makhindji Var' filmed by 'Paranoia Film' won the award of the 15th Moscow International Advertisement festival, took a part in the out-of-competition programs of ' Cannes' lions' festival, New York Film and video festival, Short Film festival Clermont-Ferraud and Vinterfestivalen in Scandinavia.
In Russia the video was presented on 'Rossija' state channel and in the 'Best music videos of the world' program on RenTV.

DATO also closed the 18th Russian open cinema festival 'Kinotavr' -2007, performing 'Makhindgi Var', which was broadcasted live on CTC TV (Russia).

Music Video 'Sand Dream' to 'Makhindji Var' song was one of the first ones in the world using the unique technology of drawing in the sand.
Many music critics in CIS countries acknowledged the video as the most sensational in 2005.

DATO has regularly been invited as the main guest to popular TV shows on different Russian channels.

DATO's songs and videos are on many music radios and TV channels' playlists.
